    Edward II – 24th February 2010

    2010 - 02.18

    Edward II – 24th February 2010

Join us for a free screening of Derek Jarman’s Edward II, with an introductory talk on the film and Jarman by Paul Maguire.

Jarman studied English, History & Art at King’s in the early ’60s and was “the maverick radical of the British cinema during the late 1970s, ’80s, and early ’90s.” His Edward II revisits the eponymous play by Christopher Marlowe, “blending theatricalised staging, pop video aesthetics, overt homoeroticism, covert misogyny, and poetic dialogue.”

To check out more on Jarman and the film have a look at:

As per usual we’ll hop off for a drink or two after the film.
