Researcher?
This section of the website lists requests for help for research that King’s LGBT receives.
For King’s LGBT members, King’s College London students and students of other universities:
King’s LGBT receives many requests for members to help researchers with studies investigating aspects of the LGBT community. Any request or advert placed here will have passed an ethics committee. You are welcome, but under no obligation, to contact the researchers or get involved. Please note that the committee, nor King’s LGBT, nor KCLSU endorses any other the studies listed, nor are they responsible for anything that may happen while taking part in research. The fact that the study has passed an ethics committee does, though, mean that you will face no risk while participating in research. Any student at King’s or any other university is welcome to contact researchers listed here, although if you’re not a King’s LGBT member or you’re not a student at King’s College London this should be mentioned.
For researchers:
King’s LGBT understands the importance of research undertaken into the LGBT community, especially into LGBT students and we want to make it as easy as possible for you to request help or advertise a study. Therefore we have set in place a procedure that makes access to our members easy, but also protects them.
If you wish to request help from King’s LGBT or recruit our members please e-mail the President (Michael Fanner – michael.fanner@kcl.ac.uk) with the following information:
1. The name of the study.
2. The study’s aims.
3. What is involved for participants.
4. Details of the study’s ethical approval (which committee, approval number etc).
5. Contact information and how interested members should get in touch.
Any study that has passed the relevant ethics committee will be posted on this page. The page will then be advertised to our members.
If anyone, student or researcher, has any queries about this process please don’t hesitate to contact me at jonathan.roland@kcl.ac.uk
